Sorry we’re late, but there were travel arrangements to be made, houses to remodel, and cool new phones to purchase.

This week we bring you a special recorded-late-at-night-and-we’re-sleepy edition of GuildCast.  We take a closer look at the necro’s skills and abilities, then it’s off to the email inbox!  We covered more class speculation, Rubi’s strategy for the PAX demos, and the not-so-good stuff about what we’ve seen so far.  That’s right, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows — double or otherwise.  Finally, we’re treated to a short wrapup of Gamescom from longtime GuildCast listener Chiuna.  She was fortunate enough to attend Gamescom and play the demo, and she sent us her impressions, so listen for that at the end.

Next week is PAX and Dragon*Con, so you’ll be without us for just a bit longer.  We’ll make it worth the wait with all sorts of stories from our travels afterwards, though.  Got something you are just dying to see in the GW2 demo at PAX?  Rubi’s taking requests, so send in those emails and she’ll add it to her list of things to look for!

Downtime

We’re going to be a bit late on Episode 16 while Rubi and I prepare for PAX and Dragon*Con next week. Hopefully we can record before we leave, but if not, we won’t have another chance until after Labor Day. You can make it without us for a bit! Stay strong! 🙂

Guildcast episode 15 is the newsvalanche edition.  We talked about the first unofficial gameplay video of Guild Wars 2 from Gamescom, and the “official” one released the next day, complete with an honest-to-goodness necromancer!

We also went over a behind-the-scenes look at creating a cinematic and an awesome Q & A with Colin Johanson, and inserted a hefty dose of Shawn and Rubi Opinion ™. Finally, we sent our congratulations to ArenaNet for winning the Best Online Game award at Gamescom 2010 — you guys earned that every step of the way!

Finally, we took another stab at Big Email Mountain, which included a request for our Guild Wars character names (Shawn: Guild Cast, Rubi: Rubi Djinn) and some photos of our hopefully-beautiful faces.  So, here you go.  A beautiful faceAnd another.  And another link to the Massively/Guildcast guild info.

In return for the eye candy, you guys should send us more intros!  Our current supply is running low, and we always love to hear from you.  See you next week!

What a difference a few extra days makes!  Since last week’s Guildcast was three days early, we’ve got ten days worth of news and emails to work through for episode 14.  In this episode, we rhapsodize over voice acting and game sounds, the MMO manifesto, and Jeremy Soule.  We speculate over what the Curse.com buyout of GuildWars2Guru might mean, and discuss the surprise exodus of several ArenaNet staffers.  Finally, if you have not explored the Guild Wars Wiki, you need to.  Oh, also?  We really want a Sandwichmancer.

Finally, we tackle Big Email Mountain and listen to a poem about the death of the monk class, read by Rubi’s awesome guildmate Blood Avenger.  See you next week!

This week’s episode is a bit early, as Shawn and Rubi prepare to head to Indianapolis for Gen Con.
The topic this week, of course, is ArenaNet’s revelation of character personality in Guild Wars 2.  We point one listener in the direction of SabreWolf’s awesome video series, and even venture into PvP-land briefly, but mostly to mention the Team Quitter forums and talk about how much we don’t know about PvP.
We also work through some of our emails — we love getting them, thanks you guys!  We’ll see you next week.
