Guildcast episode 15 is the newsvalanche edition. We talked about the first unofficial gameplay video of Guild Wars 2 from Gamescom, and the “official” one released the next day, complete with an honest-to-goodness necromancer!
We also went over a behind-the-scenes look at creating a cinematic and an awesome Q & A with Colin Johanson, and inserted a hefty dose of Shawn and Rubi Opinion ™. Finally, we sent our congratulations to ArenaNet for winning the Best Online Game award at Gamescom 2010 — you guys earned that every step of the way!
Finally, we took another stab at Big Email Mountain, which included a request for our Guild Wars character names (Shawn: Guild Cast, Rubi: Rubi Djinn) and some photos of our hopefully-beautiful faces. So, here you go. A beautiful face. And another. And another link to the Massively/Guildcast guild info.
In return for the eye candy, you guys should send us more intros! Our current supply is running low, and we always love to hear from you. See you next week!
The GuildCast theme song is “The Dirt” by Goddessmusic.

Great show as always. Thanks
Yeah that video was cool
the only issue i was slightly concerned by is that is it just me or does everything seem huge
i mean massive dragon awesome but given how big some of the level 1 bosses look i cant help feel that the scale of the dragon boss wont feel as grand and imposing
Here are some familiar areas

Shawn and Rubi,
You asked to see a Sylvari in game and i found that along with a Norn in Divinities Reach. The link is below and you just have to skip to the second half of the video.

I feel just as I imagine Hurin felt, chained to a rock by Morgoth yet allowed farsight so he could see all that was going on in the world, though distorted by Morgoth’s evil will.
I was deeply saddened when I noticed “The Ruins of Denravi” on the Ghosts of Ascalon map. Wwhere are us aging hippies to go to watch the summer solstice sun-rise in GW2 eh? Ah! I remember the last big Henge of Denravi festival some 29 years ago. Met up with Togo to watch the last major performance of the old Elonian rocker, Jamie Hendrax. Togo ripped the place up that weekend 🙂
You asked what I thought was coming next? Definitely not the mesmer, and definitely not a new class. They won’t release all three scholars before they release the second adventurer, and they’ll release the new stuff last. I personally think the assassin’s coming next, mainly because of the Caithe videos of her with daggers and doing a charge attack and because of this art here:
I think You’re right, and i would bet this is the guy on the official profession pic
It’s jsut sitting or something.
+1 vote for the assassin
Necromancers can dual wield daggers. Just thought I would lob that in there 🙂
