Rubi’s been a busy bee last week, as you can see from her blog posts further down our front page. So we decided to get together and chat in further detail about her trip to the Guild Wars Fan Day, held in Seattle last week. She discusses everything from the spellbar to the office furniture at ArenaNet’s office.

If you’d like to follow along with the screenshots we comment on during the show, refer to this photo album.

The GuildCast theme song is “The Dirt” by Goddessmusic.

  1. Rubi & Shaun, you can gather all materials, even if you don’t have that profession.

Also, Rubi, I believe you were Woodworker and Jeweller. Those were the defaults given to me at PAX East.

You weren’t at the workbench to utilize the wood, and as such, I don’t believe any exist in the game yet. We did get a guy inside Hoelbrak once and he saw the crafting NPCs, but no workbenches yet.

Personally, I would love to hear some of the folks from Relics on the Guildcast! That is a fantastic idea… thank-you Shawn and Rubi… you guys are fantastic.

  4. Got too listen too that again on a slower speed :P

Yes, yes… by all means… do another podcast soon during which Rubi is intrerrogated on every little particular of the fanday experience… I’m sure there are some shades of green I haven’t yet turned and we might as well shoot for the complete color pallete don’t you think? ;-) *chuckle*

Seriously, get Tigerfeet and see if she can wrangle Csquirrelrun and/or Tasha to come on with her… I’m picturing a 1950s backroom sort of thing… you know, with a really bright light fixture pointed right at Rubi’s face while questions are rapid fired at her from the shadows… “Now miss, on the night in question… did you play in professions other than Ele? You were revived from downed state by party members, but did you ever revive another player yourself? Was there an obvious ‘global refresh’ after using a skill, or could you immediately select another skill to use without any sort of delay? Did you notice the tell-tale signs of the ghosts’ locations before they sprang from the ground to attack your group? Were there any of the usual indications of ‘loot’ available on the ‘corpses’ as you cleared your way through the dungeon? Was Colin Johanson present, and did he, at any point in time, stop smiling in a friendly way?”
“We want the TRUTH miss!” …lol

  6. awesome sauce,
wow, that was some cool storytelling skill, fastest one I’ve ever heard in a podcast. and we expect nothing less coming from a long absence on the podcast. so… marriage is done (congrats btw), are we expecting a regularly scheduled podcast now? (crosses fingers).
